Some of the best skincare products I use are from the drugstore. They work just as well, or even better, than the splurge-worthy products you'll find at high-end department stores.
Below is a list of all-natural, highly effective, and budget friendly body products I can't live without!
Aquaphor Healing Ointment ($13.79)
This multi-purpose solution is clinically proven to heal dry skin, cuts, burns, and chapped lips. It also works wonders as an eye cream.
I don’t go a day without applying this lip balm. It provides all day hydration that softens, smooths, and plumps lips.
The most effective hand and foot balm. It melts right into the skin, replenishing it with ultra-nourishing ingredients like shea butter and vitamin E.
This deeply moisturizing body lotion is enriched with collagen, elastin, argan oil, and shea butter, which work to enhance the skin’s elasticity, texture and tone.
The miracle oil is infused with a combination of plant extracts and vitamins that visibly improve the appearance of scars, uneven skin tone, and dehydrated skin.
I use Witch Hazel as an everyday facial toner. It gently cleanses and soothes the skin leaving your complexion looking and feeling refreshed.
Different Gel contains a prescription-strength retinoid that treats existing breakouts from where they form (deep in the pores), while also preventing new acne from forming.
I highly recommend switching from a deodorant stick to a deodorant spray. Dove sprays on clear and dries instantly, so you avoid white residue and clothing stains.
This mineral based sunscreen is specifically formulated for sensitive skin so you can apply it on both your face and body. Bonus: the bottle turns blue in harmful UV light as a reminder to stay sun safe.
I’ve used A LOT of self tanners and Jergens is by far the best. The tinted mousse allows for a flawless application that dries quickly, and develops into a streak-free bronze glow.
Many people have asked me to write a blog post on my hair care. I wrote a post a few years ago, so this is an updated version with some new ideas and products to get and keep your hair healthy.
During my freshmen year of college, I went through a dark phase… I dyed my hair from blonde to brown. I regretted that decision immediately and spent weeks dyeing it back to blonde. You can probably imagine what happened to my hair after over-processing it for weeks straight… it literally broke off! I was left with brittle, thin hair and many bad hair days ahead.
Growing back healthy hair has been a longgggg process, but I can finally say that my hair is back / and healthier than ever before. Here are some of the best ways I’ve found to grow and maintain healthy hair.
My wash routine made the biggest difference in re-growing healthy hair.
As contradictory as it may seem, the more you wash your hair, the more you need to. Washing your hair everyday strips your hair of its natural oil, which can cause frizz, split ends, and an overproduction of sebum (your hair’s oil).
Instead of washing my hair every day, I wait a couple days between washes. And when I do wash my hair, I shampoo twice. According to this Byrdie article, shampooing your hair twice is beneficial because it allows for proper cleansing, giving you longer periods of time with a clean scalp and keeping away the oily hair problem. The first shampoo breaks down the oils and buildup in your hair while the second shampoo completely gets them out.
I wash out my shampoo with warm water and then finish rinsing out my conditioner with cold water. The warm water opens up the hair’s cuticle shaft, while the cold seals the cuticle and locks in moisture.
I have found the “secret” to healthy hair is Olaplex. It saved my hair! The patented formula works on a molecular level to repair broken bonds in the hair caused by chemical, thermal, and mechanical damage. Just after one use my hair felt stronger, smoother, and more vibrant.
About twice a week I’ll use the Hair Perfector No. 3 as a mask. I leave it in for about 10-20 minutes and then follow with Olaplex shampoo and conditioner.
I also like to do a hair rinse a couple times a week using apple cider vinegar. ACV is a healthy alternative to shampoo that gently cleanses and removes impurities from hair. I love dpHUE’s Apple Cider Vinegar Hair Rinse because it’s infused with additional ingredients like Aloe Vera and Argan Oil that help condition the hair.
Once a month, I’ll use a clarifying shampoo for a deep clean and apply it just to my roots. This helps get rid of oil build up and residue on your scalp.
You can nourish your hair from the inside out too. Foods with omega 3 such as walnuts, salmon, and avocado help as well as taking supplements. My favorite are Vital Proteins Collagen Peptides and Briogeo Healthy Hair Supplements. Both contain nutrients known to support healthy hair, skin, and nails. After a few months of taking these, I noticed that my hair was growing faster. On top of that, my skin became more vibrant and my nails became stronger!
I try to use heat sparingly. If I want to style my hair, I'll let my hair air dry almost completely, then go back with a blow dryer to smooth it out—this technique works, and it cuts my blow drying time in half!
I like to blow dry and style my hair with the Dyson Airwrap Styler. It comes with five interchangeable tools used to curl, wave, smooth, and dry with out extreme heat. The Styler dries my hair at lightning speed and leaves me with voluminous, salon styled hair.
My hair holds curl well, so sometimes I will just sleep in thick braids to get a natural wave and add Oribe Dry Texturing Spray to my roots after I undo the braids in the morning.
I have naturally thick hair that’s heavy and lays flat on my head, so to add volume I take my Tangle Teezer to the top of my head and move it around my scalp in a circular motion. I don’t know how stumbled upon this voluminous trick, but it works!
My favorite hairbrush is the iconic Mason Pearson brush. What makes this brush so special is that it’s handcrafted using the same techniques and patents established over 125 years ago. The patented cushion conforms to the contours of the scalp, while the nylon bristles effortlessly detangles your locks. TIP: Always start at the ends and gently work your way up to the roots.
A good rule of thumb for dying your hair is to color it two shades lighter or darker than your natural color.
To maintain my blowout between washes, I’ll spray my hair with dry shampoo, twist my hair in a bun and clip it up before bed. I also sleep on a silk pillowcase. FUN FACT: dry shampoo is most effective when used before bed. Instead of spraying roots and brushing the product out minutes later, leaving it in overnight allows the ingredients time to absorb oil, sweat, and odor.
When I work out, I use an elastic fabric hair tie to put my hair in a low ponytail. Unlike rubber hair ties, elastic hair ties don’t leave creases or tear your hair when you pull them out.
Hope you found this post helpful!
I love experimenting with new makeup products, but when it comes to my everyday beauty routine, I use the following staples:
I believe primer is the most important product in anyone's beauty bag. It's purpose is to help prep and protect the skin as well as extend the wear of your makeup. My favorite primer is Laure Mercier's Blurring primer. The name says it all- this primer blurs imperfections giving you a real-life photo filtered face.
I wear this age-defying tinted moisturizer everyday in place of foundation. The product is clinically proven to prevent and fight signs of aging. On top of that, there's no need to swatch for the perfect shade, It's intelligent formula delivers a universal tint and healthy glow.
An award-winning concealer that corrects, contours, highlights, and perfects. It's creamy consistency also locks in moisture leaving the skin hydrated and creaseless. TIP: whenever picking out an under-eye concealer, choose a shade that's two shades lighter than your skin tone. This will instantly hide dark circles and brighten your face.
My go-to palette day and night, year-round. I love that it's arranged in rows for three easy looks to mix and match. The palette is formulated with amazonian clay, AKA nature's perfect ingredient for better, longer wear.
This highly pigmented formula is infused with Vitamin E for a smooth application. Once applied, the creamy texture can be built up and blended for up to 30 seconds before it sets, resulting in a smudge-proof smoldering effect.
The holy grail of mascaras! This mascara is formulated with lash growing and strengthening ingredients that visibly transformed my lashes from damaged, short and sparse to healthy, long and thick. Since I've been using this product, people have asked if I have lash extensions. Need I say more?
Benefit Cosmetics Gimme Brow ($24)
I use Benefit’s Gimme Brow to replicate model Taylor Hill's eyebrows. The gel contains tiny microfibers that adhere to skin and brow hairs to achieve natural-looking fullness and volume.
This finely milled matte bronzer blends effortlessly into the skin to create a believable sun-kissed glow.
The #1 best selling blush in the US for a reason. This iconic shade delivers a rush of color & subtle shimmer that flatters any skin-tone.
Becca's liquid luminizer melts into the skin leaving a natural, dewy glow. Sometimes I'll mix in a drop with my foundation, for an all-over radiant complexion.
No other brand beats this lip balm. It's my secret to hydrated and naturally plump lips.
NYX butter gloss melts on your lips leaving you with smooth, kissable lips & a sweet pop of color.
One of my all-time favorite lip products! It’s a tinted balm, colored like a lipstick & shiny like a gloss. Basically a triple threat! It adds a velvety touch of color with a lustrous pout.
This setting spray miraculously helps my makeup stay in place all day (or all night). It features patented temperature control technology that actually lowers the temperature of your makeup. The result is makeup that lasts up to 16 hours without melting, fading, or settling into fine lines.
We’ve all heard the motto “You are what you eat.” Now add “You are what you apply” …to your skin. The products you put on your body absorb directly into your bloodstream, so being aware of what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it.
Follain was founded on the notion that no one should have to sacrifice their health for beauty. The beauty company is the source for the best non-toxic beauty and skincare brands. Below I’ve listed my favorite products from Follain.
ROSE BODY BUTTER
I pamper my dry winter skin with this dreamy moisturizer. It’s satin-soft texture smooths over parched skin effortlessly, leaving it visibly more hydrated and luminous.
COCO ROSE BODY POLISH
l use this luxurious body polish in place of shaving cream. The blend of Moroccan rose, coconut oil, and sugar gently exfoliates and deeply nourishes the skin. My legs feel silky smooth to the touch. It also smells heavenly!
This cooling mist works to replenish and balance the skin. After I wash my face, I’ll spray this over my complexion to attain a dewy and vibrant appearance.
This energizing cleanser tingles as it effectively removes surface impurities, without stripping the skin of its natural oils. My face is left looking renewed, refreshed, and radiant. It also smells delightful!
GOLDEN HOUR RECOVERY CREAM
A rich yet quick-absorbing moisturizer, that leaves my skin nourished without looking or feeling greasy. I smooth a sheer layer over my skin each morning to help hydrate and protect it against environmental stressors. It’s the perfect everyday base cream!
You’re never too young to start implementing anti-aging products into your skincare routine. With that said, I am always searching for THE best anti-aging skin care products… & finally my search is over. For the past few months, I tried a few anti-aging products from the newly renowned skincare company Demarché Labs.
In today’s society, we are constantly demanding things at faster rates, & that is what I love most about these products; they are quick to tackle signs of aging. Their innovative formula rapidly destroys evidence of fine lines & wrinkles, ultimately repairing the skin for an overall smoother complexion.
I used BIOREWIND Total Restorative Eye Cream, the FULLFILL Hyaluronic Acid Topical Wrinkle Filler, Instant Skin Smoothing Masque, & the Roloxin Lift Gold Masque. Each of these products greatly improved my skin’s appearance.
BIOREWIND Total Restorative Eye Cream
I am big on eye creams. Because the skin around our eyes is so thin & delicate, it must be met with extra care. This eye cream is formulated with amino acids and antioxidants that helps fight free radical damage, puffiness and dark circles. I applied this cream routinely in the morning & evening. Just after one week’s use, I noticed that the skin underneath my eyes went from dull & discolored to visibly brighter & smoother.
FULLFILL Hyaluronic Acid Topical Wrinkle Filler
I have used countless products with hyaluronic acid, a key ingredient in keeping skin plump, hydrated, and youthful looking. What makes this product unique is that its innovative formula allows for a deeper penetration of hyaluronic acid into the skin, which allows for faster results. After applying it consistently for one week, I noticed that my skin was smoother & appeared more voluminous.
Instant Skin Smoothing Masque
I’m addicted to the instant results I get directly after using this product. This masque truly does everything it is formulated to do: visibly lift, tighten, and smooth skin for a face-lift effect that lasts all day. After just one use, my skin felt & appeared more firm & smooth. The product also decreased the appearance of pores & subtle lines on my face, giving my skin an airbrush-like complexion. This product is a great prep step for flawless makeup application; any time that I have an event, I will use a mask.
Roloxin Lift Gold Masque
This mask is gold, literally & figuratively. I use this mask to prep my skin for special occasions. After each us, my skin is left luxuriously smooth & luminous.
Special thanks to Stephen Florres for suggesting these products!
As much as I’d love to tell you that my skin care routine is simple, well… it’s not. If you want great skin you have to put in the time and effort to get the results you want. However, once you get into a routine it will become simpler.
Everyone has a different skin type. The products I’ve listed are what I have found work best for my skin type, which is combination. My advice is to experiment with the endless supply of products on the market to find what works best for you and your skincare needs. The basic outline of my routine is for everyone:
1. Cleanser: To make sure I don't strip my face of natural oils and dry-out my skin, I wash my face with a gentle cleanser. Sometimes I'll even just splash my with ice-cold water. This helps reduce puffiness & definitely wake you up!
2. Toner: After I wash my face, I soak a cotton pad with witch hazel and gently pat it all over my face. For those of you who aren’t familiar with witch hazel, it is an all-natural tonic that has been used for centuries to cleanse, soothe, and tone skin. The cucumber witch hazel I use in the morning is a miracle worker at erasing dark circles and bags from under my eyes.
3. Serum: Once the witch hazel dries, I will apply a serum. Serums have a high concentration of active ingredients such as antioxidants, moisturizing agents, and vitamins that effectively target specific skin concerns. I am currently using a serum that targets sun damage.
4. Moisturizer: Next, I will smooth on moisturizer all over my face. I have a collection of moisturizers that I switch off using depending on the skin issues I want to target. Below is a moisturizer from my FAVORITE skincare brand. Eminence products are made with fresh fruit pulps, plants and exotic spices. This makes them incredibly rich in nutrients and highly effective.
5. Sunscreen: Last but not least, I apply sunscreen all over my face (and body) everyday to protect from damaging UV rays. I choose sunscreens that contain zinc oxide because the ingredient has a broad spectrum of UV protection. My favorite sunscreen is from Blue Lizard—the bottle turns blue in the presence of UV light!
Throughout the day I mist my face with a hydrating mist to keep my complexion looking dewy and fresh. On the flip side, if my face starts to look oily, I blot my face with oil wipes to reduce the shine.
1. Cleanser: If I wear makeup during the day, I wash my face with this natural (but very effective) face wash. It is so important to NEVER sleep in your makeup! Yes, I am guilty of this… but I’ve learned that I’m always thankful when I take just 5 minutes to wash my face, instead of dealing with breakouts over the next 5 days.
2. Toner: Same as the morning.
3. Serum: Same as the morning.
4. Moisturizer: I use this age corrective moisturizer at night.
5. Eye Cream: I use Aquaphor as an eye cream! It is extremely hydrating and I’ve found it works better than Vaseline because it soaks into the skin.
once a week
I exfoliate once or twice a week to shed dead skin and retain a smooth complexion. My favorite way to exfoliate is with Clarisonic.
I hope you enjoyed this post! Let me know what products you use in your skincare routine!

I use this product to correct the dull and pale effects winter has on my complexion. After I apply it, my skin instantly becomes more lively and radiant. It's the perfect primer because it's lightweight and creates a smooth surface for the rest of my makeup.
I LOVE this product. I usually mix it with my foundation to obtain an all-over glow, or I use it in place of my highlighter. Either way, it leaves me with a natural sun kissed look!
CREAM CHEEK COLOR
I'm a fan of cream products because they go on smoothly and are so easy to blend! Whenever I'm in a hurry, I use this product and it gives me a quick and instant burst of color.
EYE COLOR QUAD
Tom Ford eye color quads come in stunning color combinations. The colors are perfect to layer and create looks that can transform from day to night.

There are many products on the market that promise you flawless skin. But no matter how many facemasks, serums or moisturizers you try and slather on to the outside of your skin, beauty for your skin starts on the inside. I’ve researched and put together a list of ways to attain beautiful and healthy skin without having to buy products.
Your skin is basically a canvas for your body’s health. If you’re not eating well, your body will signal that your diet needs to change by exhibiting skin problems.
Sugar, dairy and gluten all have a common role in causing breakouts and inflammation. Try avoiding one or all of these foods for about two weeks and see how your skin changes.
Aim to eat dark leafy greens, berries and fish. These types of foods are rich in vitamins, minerals and antioxidants that your skin needs to eliminate toxins and rejuvenate.
BREAK A SWEAT
Glowing skin is one of the many benefits that one can obtain from regular exercise. Getting your heart rate pumping boosts your blood and oxygen circulation. This nourishes your cells and helps remove toxins from your body. Plus, when you break a sweat, this relieves clogged pores leaving you with a natural glow! Exercising also lowers high cortisol levels, a stress hormone that when high can lead to breakouts.
Caffeinated drinks like coffee, tea, soda or alcohol can lead to dehydration. This can cause dry skin and worsen wrinkles. If you want to get a dewy and glowing complexion, guzzling water is essential. Staying hydrated helps your body deliver nutrients to your cells, which keeps them plump and appear firmer on the outside.
I try to follow the 8x8 rule: eight 8-ounce glasses of water per day.
DON’T TOUCH YOUR FACE
From touching your phone to door handles and money, your hands come in contact with a lot of bacteria. When you touch your face, these germs as well as the oils from your hands can then transfer onto your skin and not only cause breakouts, but also cause you to become sick.
GET SOME ZZZ…
It’s called “beauty sleep” for a reason. Sleep is the time when your body’s skin cells repair themselves. When you lack a good night’s sleep, your skin’s restorative process is cut short and can lead to dark circles, fine lines and breakouts. By getting 7 to 8 hours of uninterrupted Z’s, you’ll wake up with a more smooth and radiant complexion.
This shoot was taken at one of my absolute favorite beauty boutiques: Cos Bar! If you’ve never been to Cos Bar before, you must go!! Cos Bar has 13 locations with more opening soon. Click here to find a location near you.
Whenever I had a high school formal, Cos Bar would be my go-to place to book makeup appointments. My experience there has always been so unique and positive. Every time I entered the store I was treated like royalty and left looking and feeling like the-bell-of-the-ball!
One of the things that sets Cos Bar apart, is that they host special events and bring in top makeup artist from the industry. Giorgio Amarni Luminous Silk Foundation
There's a reason this foundation has been ranked #1 for years in a row. This foundation is like no other: it goes on like silk and makes my skin look flawless.
Temptu Airbrush Machine
How awesome is an at-home airbrush machine?!?! It's so easy to use and gives my skin an instant, effortless finish.
Investing in good makeup brushes is so important because high quality brushes last longer and make a huge difference! Artis brushes are unique in that they're made with CosmeFibre, which is an engineered fiber specifically made for applying makeup. I'm obsessed with them- they're so soft!
What I use each brush for:
Bobbi Brown Natural Brow Shaper
I love this product! It's basically like mascara for your eyebrows! It's a quick and easy way to get thicker and fuller brows.
Sisley Phyto 4 Ombres Eyeshadow Quarter
This palette is beautiful and is great for any season. These shadows are gel-powder which means they last long and won't settle into lines or creases. The shimmer in the shadows also captures the light and creates a subtle glow. Truly eye-catching (;
Sisley Eye Twists
I've come to love applying eyeshadow with a pen. I usually apply them with my finger to create an effortless smokey-eye.
Special thanks to Cos Bar and Claire Little Photography.
I have a huge obsession with Coconut Oil! You may think that it’s just for cooking, but there are actually endless ways to use it in and out of the kitchen. Here are my favorite ways that I’ve implemented Coconut Oil into my daily routine.
MAKE UP REMOVER
Coconut Oil is a great substitute for make-up remover. It’s less expensive, works better, and you don’t have to worry about harsh chemicals contained in some store-bought wipes.
I apply Coconut Oil to a round cotton pad, and then gently rub off my face and eye makeup.
This is the best shaving cream! My skin feels much more silky and smooth compared to when I use regular shaving cream.
It’s an ultra-moisturizer. After I shower (this is when the skin is most absorbent) I’ll lather Coconut Oil all over my legs and dry spots like my elbows and heels. At night, I’ll use it as a facial moisturizer and eye cream. My skin is left hydrated and luminous!
Coconut Oil contains many ingredients that are essential for strong and healthy hair.
I’ve noticed that after I use it, my hair is extremely moisturized and soft.
To do a hair mask, I warm up Coconut Oil in my palms and then massage it into my hair. Afterwards, I put on a shower cap to lock in heat (and prevent the oil from touching my clothes). I like to keep the oil on my hair for as long as I can and often sleep with it in. Otherwise I’ll apply it to my hair 30 minutes before I shower.
Be sure to shampoo twice so you don’t end up with greasy hair!
IMMUNE SYSTEM BOOST
Lauric acid and caprylic acid are two antibacterial ingredients found in Coconut Oil that help improve your immune system. Whenever I feel sick, I’ll heat a spoonful of oil in a pan and gulp it down- I say “gulp” since it doesn’t taste that great by the spoonful! However, it’s worth it because it really helps me feel better when I have a sore throat or don’t feel well.
Coconut oil makes a great shoe shine. If my leather shoes are looking old or scuffed, I’ll buff them up with a rag and oil and they practically look brand new!
I hope these are some helpful tips on how to use Coconut Oil! Buy some here.
