When you have a classic and balanced wardrobe, you won’t have to think twice about picking out what to wear. Closet staples are worth investing in. They're timeless and the building blocks to any great outfit and personal style. I put together a list of closet essentials that will make getting dressed feel like a breeze!
Here are my top tips on how to have a better online shopping experience. Plus a list of my favorite e-tailers.
FILTER & SORT
To shop more efficiently, I use the filter and sort options. These options narrow down the merchandise so you can easily find products in a desired size size, color, and price (to name a few).
USE THE SIZE GUIDE
Sizes can vary depending on the style and brand, and without trying on the clothes, it can be hard to tell which will fit best. That’s when the size chart comes in handy. I just match up my measurements with those recommended on the chart to find my size.
If customer reviews are available, I will take the time to read them. These can provide more details about the quality and fit of a garment. Some reviews even include images, which can help you get a better idea of what the item looks like in person.
CHECK THE RETURN POLICY
Be sure to check if the item can be returned and for how long, or if it’s final sale. Having the option to make a return is important because you aren’t able to physically try-on and inspect your items before purchasing them online.
LOOK FOR DEALS
Most e-tailers offer some sort of discount on your first order or when you sign up for emails. Subscribing to a mailing list keeps you up-to-date on special deals and sales. The one downside is that your inbox can fill up quickly. One solution is to create a separate email account. Then, whenever you shop online, you can scroll through that mailbox to see what deals are available.
Before purchasing anything, I copy and paste the name of the item in my browser to see if another site is selling it for less. Another tip is to use Honey. It’s a free browser extension that automatically finds, tests, and applies the best coupon code at checkout.
When the temperature dips, it can be challenging to pull together an outfit that is both practical and fashionable. I put together a list of winter essentials that allow you to battle the cold without sacrificing your style.
A wool or felt hat is a great accessory to help keep you warm and make any outfit look more put together.
long wool wrap coat
Layering a bulky coat over thick sweaters can disguise you as the Abominable Snowman. Look more polished by wearing this flattering coat that will keep you cozy and looking chic.
Look cooler than winter in a leather jacket.
A turtleneck will ensure that your neck is snug all winter long. They're sleek, sophisticated, and layer effortlessly under outerwear.
This slimming silhouette allows you to layer multiple items on top for warmth. Skinny jeans are the perfect pants to tuck into your winter boots.
Moon boots are out of this world! Lined with thermal foam insulation & padding, they provide warmth, comfort, & style. They're also weatherproof! I like to wear mine with athleisure. You'll be over the moon once you've invested in a pair!
Fur gloves are extra warm and fun.
In winter, your coat is the most visible part of your outfit, so why not make a statement?
If you like athleisure then you'll love leather leggings. They're are a chic upgrade from basic yoga pants & keep your legs more warm.
When the weather outside is frightful, I put on a pair of Timberlands (combat boots). They're durable, waterproof, & built to withstand the most extreme weather conditions. Timberlands also have a classic look that pair well with cuffed jeans or leggings.
Want to look chic with minimal effort? Throw on a sweater dress. They're warm, comfortable, & stylish. I wear mine with over-the-knee boots & for extra warmth, add tights & a fur vest or coat.
If there is one must-have accessory for Winter, then it’s a belt. Cinch one around your waist over a jacket or coat to accentuate your curves & add an eye-catching element to your outfit.
Knee-high boots are a year-round staple.

Creating stylish outfits in the transitioning seasons of fall and winter can be tricky.
One outfit combo that I go to time and time again is a sweater, skirt and knee-high boots.
If you don’t already own knee-high boots, I highly recommend getting a pair! I wear mine ALL the time—so much so that the heel on one of my boots just broke off… oops.
Not only do knee-high boots add an extra (much needed) layer of warmth, but they also make any outfit more stylish. From skirts to dresses to skinny jeans, you’ll always look good.

As I mentioned in this post, a prevalent trend this fall is edgy western. If you’re not comfortable strutting around in cowboy boots or flaunting rhinestone belt buckles, I’ve put together a more sophisticated look that hints at the wild west with a rock-and-roll flare.
My shirt and leather jacket are from Alice & Olivia! This is one of my absolute favorite brands because they innovate basic wardrobe essentials into trendy, statement pieces.
Leather jackets are a closet staple. I layer mine over tops, dresses, or sweaters and my outfit instantly becomes more sleek or edgy. It’s my go-to jacket during the fall.
My jeans are from 7 For All Man Kind—they’re super flattering and comfortable and the metallic finish is a bonus.
Now the real statement… the shoes!! These Jimmy Choo booties are stunning. The silver-gold glitter texture gives you the go-ahead to wear them with anything.
Everything I am wearing in this shoot is from Neiman Marcus! From the hottest trends, to classic garments, Neiman’s has it and more.
I rounded up my top three personal favorite fashion trends for Fall & Winter. They include western attire, animal prints & my personal favorite: plaid!
I also put together a shopping guide to help you guys find these trends and add them to your wardrobe. Bonus: most everything is under $200!

It’s time to fluff your feathers!
Feathers can bring an elegant and airy style, or a sassy and festive look depending on the garment.
The feathers on the hoody are so unexpected and add so much character. On bottom, I paired feathered hem jeans to harmonize the look. These jeans are perfect for summer—they’re light-weight and made from stretch-denim.
Take off the jacket, and I am wearing one of my favorite summer looks: white-on-white. It’s an effortless look that’s crisp and classic—especially for hot summer months.

I’m ecstatic to share that I will be interning at Haute Hippie in New York City this summer!
For those of you who aren’t familiar, Haute Hippie is a luxury-based brand with an eclectic style grounded on gypset influences.
What I admire most about the brand, besides the quality, is that layering is a key element of each collection. Every garment layers effortlessly onto another, allowing one to swiftly create versatile looks.
Versatility also ties into another part of the brand which is travel. You can wear these pieces in any setting—from the boho beaches of the Bahamas to the bustling streets of New York City.
Above I am wearing a moto jacket with hang embellished fringe and detailing. Underneath, I layered an old-west inspired blouse with embroidery and lace trim.
Haute Hippie does not shy away from details. The brand’s aesthetic is evident in every stitch making each garment distinctive and unique.
Cowgirl boots are also making a big comeback! Yee-haw ;)
