During these cold months, I like to be warm but avoid hiding my outfit underneath bulky coats—unless, of course, I’m in my pajamas on the way to class! This outfit is an example of how to dress warm without looking like a marshmallow. I layered a cozy, turtleneck sweater under a warm and chic coat. And if I get too hot on top, my boyfriend jeans offer great ventilation ;)
I have a juicy secret— This coat is from Juicy Couture and I got it in middle school from a dear friend for my birthday. I love incorporating “vintage” pieces because, not only are they sentimental, but they can also be a fun statement piece that ties an outfit together, or just stand on their own. Shout-out to Elise Hartwig for one of my favorite coats :) XOXO, B

Here’s a post for the guys to get a little fashion inspiration—because all girls appreciate a well dressed guy. Meet my cousin Charlie. He is 17, a senior in high school and will hopefully be a future horned frog with me! (He was accepted into TCU!) Shop the lookSWEATER: Peter Millar | VEST: From Burberry (Similar above) | SCARF: Burberry | JEANS: Seven | SHOES: Ralph Lauren (Suggested above) LAYERMy biggest tip for guys is to layer. The more you layer, the more stylish you appear. Charlie layered a t-shirt, quarter-zip sweater, vest and a scarf. Points for him. If Charlie were to wear just a t-shirt…boring! Add a sweater…a little better. Throw on a scarf and vest…BAM! It really is that easy. KNOW YOUR COLORSAnother tip is to wear clothes that compliment your coloring. You know you’re wearing the wrong color if…

KNOW YOUR SIZEIt’s important to wear clothes that fit your body. Clothes that are too small are not flattering; clothes that are too big look sloppy. KNOW YOUR STYLEIt's helpful if you have an idea about what style you like. Do you tend to be drawn towards more preppy, trendy, sporty or hipster styles? Shop at stores that have the clothes that match your preferred style.
Here are a few store suggestions you can shop at for your preferred style: Preppy: Banana Republic, J.Crew and Ralph Lauren. Trendy: Zara. Sporty: Lulu Lemon, Adidas and Nike. Hipster: Urban Outfitters. Once you figure out the general look you like, it simplifies shopping and helps you establish an easy and stylish wardrobe that goes together. Remember: no outfit is complete without a smile and of course, always be a gentleman. No well dressed guy is stylish if their manners are lacking. If you missed that post, click here. Special thanks to Charlie for a fun photo shoot and Ty Dowda for the photos. Details on my outfit coming soon! XOXO B |
